Jam's World

From the Archives - Tradewinds USA

Surf Line Hawaii has evolved from a surf shop to a fashion and lifestyle brand that has explored countless concepts that were always original and unique. Through each chapter, Dave Rochlen maintained the integrity of his original philosophy -- color, freedom, difference and love.

Through 57+ years of innovative ideas, renowned prints and timeless styles, there are a few select prints that have been named the most iconic. Surf Line Hawaii goes into The Archives and brings back the famous Tradewinds art from the early 60s in the USA color way to deliver a limited collection of classic styles just in time for Fourth of July.

In a world of fast fashion where brands outsource production to find profits, Surf Line Hawaii has always done what it took to produce signature styles in the Honolulu factory. The multi-generational family business demonstrates true patriotism, providing opportunities and careers for Hawaii locals for over half a century.

Dave Rochlen sketched the original floral pattern on a paper napkin, unaware that this print would soon become a trademark of the Surf Line Hawaii brand, recognized nationally on the coveted Original Jams shorts.
