In a sea of people, it takes Color, Freedom, Difference and Love to stand out. Fashion and lifestyle blogger, Casey Evans (@itscaseyevans), visits us at International Market Place in the heart of Waikiki to share her philosophy when styling out in fashion and life.
Casey describes Surf Line Hawaii in one word - "Nostalgic". Like most, she fell in love with the rainbow timeline right when she walked in, captured by the history of Surf Line Hawaii from the 40s to present. The vintage pieces representing each era reminds her of her mom's vintage collection that has now conveniently found its way into her own wardrobe.
Given Casey's soft spot for nostalgic fashion, she fell in love with the vintage prints from the 60s and 70s Meleana Estes (@meleana_hawaii) picked when designing the women's collection. "I gravitated toward colors I'm really into right now... mustard yellows, bright warm hues and loud florals", says Evans.
She accessorizes with her go-to vintage light wash denim, fun yellow block heel mules, retro aviators, and cat-eye sunnies of the moment to add a modern twist to timeless looks.Casey bartends for work and blogs for play. She shares her bright bohemian style with Instagram, collaborating with swimwear brands and curating influential looks as a passion project. She maintains a flexible lifestyle to balance her work with travel and leisure. She chose versatile pieces that could be dressed up or dressed down to fit her flexible lifestyle. "Comfort is huge for me. Everything I wear has to pass 'the test'", Evans says, "I need to be able to go from lounging at the beach, to running errands, to going out for dinner or drinks".
Having lived in California and New York, Casey has curated her own bohemian-beachy-chic style. Since moving to Hawaii, she has added "Aloha vibes" to her mix. She claims, "adding more color to my world has literally made me a happier person". Casey Evans has embraced color, freedom, difference and love to stand out in both life and style.
